19 April 2023

The City of Cape Town’s Road Infrastructure Management Department will soon commence with the resurfacing of various roads in Summer Greens. The roadworks commenced this week and will be complete by 28 April 2023 if all goes as planned.

The City will be resurfacing the following roads in Summer Greens:

•        Summer Greens Drive between Heath Road Circle and Soldier Way

•        Emerald Way between Summer Greens Drive and the public open space substation (Start of block paving)

•        Woodcutters Way between Ploughman's Crescent and Tinker's Crescent

•        Ploughman's Crescent between Summer Greens Drive and Woodcutters Way

•        Runners Green between Runners Way No. 29 and Runners Way No.24

•        Runners Way between Summer Greens Drive and Runner's Green

Work will take place from Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 17:30.

In addition to these roads being resurfaced, the City will also be repairing damaged kerbs and channels in this vicinity.

'I am glad to hear this residential area is receiving this important maintenance work and I am looking forward to seeing the fresh looking roads soon. The resurfacing will be done in half widths and local residents will have access to properties and businesses. Temporary deviations will be in place should the need arise,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

Commuters are advised to be cautious and to slow down when approaching the areas where work is under way.
